Belle Tutaev, Wolmer’s school in Kingston, OBE
The Guardian of 14 February 2019, in its obituary of Belle Tutaev, recorded that she “went to Wolmer’s school in Kingston.”
The same obituary recorded that her 1961 letter to the paper, headed “Do-it-yourself nurseries,” led her to found the Pre-School Playgroups Association, later the Pre-school Learning Alliance. She was appointed OBE in 2012. She died on 15 January 2019, aged 89.
The Early Years Alliance, in its memorial of Belle Tutaev, independently printed that “at age 11, she won a scholarship to study at Wolmer’s Girls School in Kingston.”
