KINGSTON, Jamaica — Governor-General Patrick Allen has declared May 21 as Wolmer’s Day, in honour of the Wolmer’s Trust Schools’ 290th anniversary.
The proclamation, which was made on Friday at King’s House, will make the Wolmer’s Schools, the only such Jamaican institution that has a day named in its honour.
The proclamation was read by Chairman of the Wolmer’s School Board, Lincoln McIntyre at the celebratory church service held at the Kingston Parish Church yesterday.
