Luton George Kieshawn Shelton died on 22 January 2021, aged 35, after ALS (RJR News; JIS). The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, through JIS, said he “represented Wolmer’s Boys High School before moving on to Harbour View.” The Gleaner, at his funeral on 26 February 2021, wrote that “a native of Tivoli Gardens, Shelton played Manning Cup football with Wolmer’s Boys.”

RJR recorded 35 goals in 75 appearances for Jamaica, 2004–2013, and that he is the only men’s footballer to score four goals on his international debut — 24 November 2004 against St Martin in the Caribbean Cup. JIS repeated the 75 caps and record 35 goals, and noted the Sports Development Foundation’s J$5 million grant in October 2018 after the ALS diagnosis. The thanksgiving service was at House of Tranquillity on 24 February 2021.
