Wolmer\u2019s Prep has young kids, kids who can learn the different rudiments of the game from early, and that is what it\u2019s about.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Howard welcomed the presentation, noting it will enable their long-held desire of introducing the sport to their students.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cThis is an awesome representation. We\u2019re very grateful for a table tennis board, our challenge has always been having a table tennis board,\u201d said Howard. \u201cThe students, of course, because we won the Alberga Cup (prep schools football league title) recently, this is just one way of having better preparation towards greater achievement in sport.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Howard continued: \u201cAt Wolmer\u2019s Prep we believe in the total child. Sports in one way, even with the NSC; having the four Cs \u2013 creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication, sports is one way of getting them involved and doing all of that to excel academically.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to share also that we did well in the last GSAT. We are working very hard, teachers, parents, students to do well at the PEP exams this year. We have robotics coming on stream, that will also help with the four Cs and to help our children to be doing more critical thinking. So (at) Wolmer\u2019s Prep, our aim is to continue to excel at whatever we do,\u201d the principal added.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The equipment comes by virtue of a partnership between TTJ and Indian company Stag and Lothian pointed out that their donations have now reached the 400 mark.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cWe signed a four-year agreement with Stag International in India. I got the privilege to be in Germany in 2017, where I signed this agreement for four years. So every year we\u2019ll be getting a certain amount of equipment, including tables, balls, racquets, gear, and so on. So we\u2019ll be making donations from time to time to the schools and to the different institutions that play table tennis,\u201d shared Lothian.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>He added: \u201cTo date, from 2013 we\u2019ve made some 400 presentations to clubs, schools, communities, churches and business places across the country and we\u2019ll continue in this vein, that is one of our mandates.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cWe have some key pillars of our strategic plan; to ensure that we have the best coaches in the Caribbean; develop the table tennis college of the Caribbean; to ensure that we spread the sport in a participatory was as wide and as broad as possible; to ensure that we put in infrastructure across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Godfrey Lothian, president, Table Tennis Jamaica, makes a presentation of table tennis racquets, balls and a table to Ms Janet Howard, principal, Wolmer\u2019s Preparatory School, at the institution yesterday.
