The Mayberry Jamaica Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (JABBFA) National Senior Championship was held on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Wolmer\u2019s Boys\u2019 Auditorium \u2014 the Douglas Orane Auditorium \u2014 National Heroes Circle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gleaner, previewing the finals that morning, wrote that the championship returned to the stage under the theme \u201cInvesting in Excellence, Building Champions.\u201d The finals followed a 30 July launch at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston, where Mayberry Investments Limited reaffirmed a $1-million sponsorship pledge. Mayberry has been title sponsor since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt Mayberry Investments Limited, our mission extends well beyond the boardroom. We are in the business of building futures, and we recognise that strong, healthy communities are the foundation on which strong economies are built,\u201d Desiree Wheeler, marketing manager at Mayberry Investments Limited, told the Gleaner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Romario Thomas, dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon, and past men\u2019s physique champion, said: \u201cThe sport gives you purpose and community. It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re a professional, doesn\u2019t matter what you\u2019re doing outside of it… It gave me purpose and community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orick Anderson, treasurer of JABBFA, said Mayberry had become \u201ca strategic partner to our association in the growth and transformation of bodybuilding in Jamaica.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Observer\u2019s results, published 19 August, recorded that the Wolmer\u2019s Boys\u2019 auditorium was transformed into a stage of discipline and physique before a packed house of patrons, families and fitness enthusiasts. Competitors from gyms across the island battled through 14 categories, with the evening building to three overall titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicolas Wilson of New Level Gym, who topped the Bodybuilding Middleweight class, went on to claim the Bodybuilding Overall crown. Shaquille Bowen of Classic Body Fitness, winner of the Men\u2019s Physique \u2014 Tall Class, was named Men\u2019s Physique \u2014 Overall champion. Monique Trenchfield of Island Body Fitness, who won the Women\u2019s Bikini Fitness \u2014 Tall Class, was crowned Women\u2019s Bikini Fitness \u2014 Overall champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malik Griffiths of Raw Ground Training took first place in Classic Bodybuilding, Men\u2019s Physique \u2014 Muscular, and Bodybuilding \u2014 Lightweight. Treshawna Hutchinson of Fit Farm Fitness Club won both the Women\u2019s Fit Model category and the Women\u2019s Bikini Fitness \u2014 Short Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cecil Beacon of Iron Beach Gym won Bodybuilding \u2014 Masters. Naima Stennett claimed Women\u2019s Bikini Fitness \u2014 Masters. Shania Daley of Express Fitness 24\/7 took Women\u2019s Body Fitness. Deandra Williams of NRG Fitness won Women\u2019s Physique. Mario Watson of Fit Farm Fitness Club claimed Men\u2019s Physique \u2014 Short Class. Lissan Wallace of Spot On Fitness topped Women\u2019s Bikini Wellness. Franz Collins of Express Fitness 24\/7 won Bodybuilding \u2014 Heavyweight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery athlete who stepped onto that stage on Saturday represented months, and in many cases years, of discipline and sacrifice,\u201d Wheeler told the Observer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
