Education Minister Fayval Williams urged young Jamaicans to harness \u201cfour superpowers\u201d \u2014 curiosity, consciousness, collaboration and creativity \u2014 at the inaugural TeenTech Ja forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams was addressing the event on Wednesday at Wolmer\u2019s Boys\u2019 School in Kingston, inside the Douglas Orane Auditorium, under the theme \u2018The Future is Here! Are You Ready?\u2019. Some 1,500 students from high schools across Jamaica attended. EduHub Company Limited hosted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf someone had not wondered why we can\u2019t fly, we probably would not have the luxury of air travel today,\u201d she said. She also charged students to stay conscious of their devices: \u201cThere was a study done that said the average person checks their phone every two minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kavelle Hylton, CEO of STEM Builders, spoke on emerging technologies. Host principal Dwight Pennycooke said the conference was a chance to enhance career awareness and to bridge education and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
