The evening culminated in the crowning of 23-year-old Troy-Ann Anderson as Queen of the East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something I can\u2019t fully explain. I\u2019m absolutely overjoyed,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cI\u2019ve made my parents proud. I\u2019ve made my brother proud. I represented not just my family, but my church family too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am so incredibly humbled. Entering this competition I didn\u2019t expect to get this much out of it. I knew that Miss Universe Jamaica East was a platform for altruism and empowerment, but I did not in my wildest dreams expect to be the woman standing before you today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First runner-up was Simone Gardner; second runner-up Shiann Excell.
