The paper printed the stay this way: during the Second World War, Major Targett was posted to Jamaica and the family went with him.<\/p>\n      <p>PETER TARGETT, who has died aged 72, was headmaster of Southgate School in Enfield, north London, from 1972 to 1985, turning it into one of London\u2019s most reputable comprehensives. The paper headed the piece \u201cComprehensive head and palm reader.\u201d One day he was bitten in the leg by a scorpion, but was saved by the family\u2019s quick-witted maid, who sucked out the poison.
