Jamaica Observer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>KINGSTON, Jamaica \u2014 Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, an old girl of Wolmer\u2019s Trust High School for Girls, was presented with the symbolic key to the city of Kingston and used the occasion to give US$50,000 to her alma mater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony was held at Wolmer\u2019s Girls. Fraser-Pryce framed the day as \u201cFrom Waterhouse to Wolmer\u2019s to the world.\u201d The Jamaica Gleaner reported the same gift and honour on 14 February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fraser-Pryce is a five-time world 100 metres champion and a double Olympic gold medallist in the 100 metres. She also founded the Pocket Rocket Foundation, which awards academic scholarships to high-school student-athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n<p>In <em>The Players\u2019 Tribune<\/em> (11 August 2021) she wrote, in her own words: \u201cI went to Wolmer\u2019s Trust High School for Girls, which I think is the oldest school in the Caribbean, and the best school in Jamaica.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<em>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamaicaobserver.com\/2025\/02\/13\/fraser-pryce-gets-symbolic-key-kingston-donates-us50000-wolmers\/\">Jamaica Observer<\/a>, February 13, 2025.
